Accepted Recyclable Metals and Materials
Our Newark metal recycling center accepts the following:
Nonferrous Metals
Nonferrous metals are nonmagnetic and do not contain iron, which means they are resistant to rust and corrosion. This favorable property makes nonferrous metals ideal for manufacturing, construction and electronics applications. For the recycling of nonferrous metals, you can rely on H&C Metals to offer responsible and professional recycling services.

The Benefits of Recycling Nonferrous Metals
Since these metals are frequently used in many industries, recycling nonferrous scrap metal is essential for economic efficiency and environmental sustainability. Fortunately, nonferrous metals maintain their corrosion-resistant properties after being recycled multiple times, allowing them to be reused more often and keeping them out of landfills.

Ferrous metals contain iron and, as a result, have magnetic properties. We haul and recycle the following light iron materials:
- Sheet metal
- Ductwork
- Metal studs
- Tin and steel cans
- HVAC equipment
- Roof decking
- Drums
We also accept heavy steel items, such as:
- Structural beams
- Cast iron components
- Pipes
- Railroad tracks
- Industrial equipment
- Heavy machinery
These light iron and heavy steel materials often come from demolition projects, construction sites, warehouses and manufacturing facilities. We can also recycle ferrous materials from household appliances, including:
- Washers
- Dryers
- Refrigerators
- Water heaters
- Stoves
Our Ferrous Scrap Metal Recycling Process
H&C Metals handles the initial stages of iron and metal recycling, such as collection, classification and processing. While our nonferrous metals and e-waste go to our Newark scrap metal facility, ferrous metals go to Balemet Recycling, our sister company, which is equipped with machinery such as a grapple crane and Bobcats.

Electronic / Computer Scrap
E-waste refers to obsolete or outdated electronic devices often used in offices, homes and mobile environments. We are a qualified NJ DEP-approved hauler and handler of electronic scrap and industrial batteries, recycling e-waste items, such as:- Servers
- CPU towers
- Telecom equipment
- Hard drives
- Cell phones
- Data center scrap
- Lead-acid and wet cell batteries
Environmental Benefits of Recycling Electronic Scrap
Consider a few environmental benefits of recycling e-waste:- Natural resource conservation: Recycling and reusing metals such as copper and aluminum reduces the demand to mine for raw materials and preserves them for future generations.
- Reduced energy consumption: Extracting and refining new materials requires more energy than recycling processes.
- Less greenhouse gas emissions: Mining and process raw materials also releases more greenhouse gases, so recycling results in less pollution.
